Another thread that's a fuss about nothing.
I think basically, it's because if you speak/read English you can understand American. Most game software I've seen uses the American version mainly because their gaming market and population are much larger.
There's nothing stopping you typing in English, it's not like it's going to corrupt the way you spell something. Not unless you're a complete moron. |

Not all English folk ***** about such things.
I for one would not care if we changed armour to armor, it would make it easier for non-Americans/non-English to understand. We borrowed Armour (Armoire) from the French anyway in the Middle Ages. |

I agree. It always annoys me slightly when there is an "english-united states" option in language selection but no "english-UK" or "English-British" option when installing stuff etc. :). As Homer Simpson puts it "Why do I need to learn english? I'm never going to England..." :) SM
You have a problem understanding American?
It just a set of instructions, it's not saying we don't care about the English. |

Oh right i'm sure canada or south america could have pulled your asses out of that fire That is the worst argument I have ever heard. America did barely anything on the European front, the soviets took most of the losses and did most of the damage. So do not ever bring up such a futile argument and wave it around as if you matter. I agree that it's a poor argument but you are wrong in stating America barely did anything on the European front. America was largely responsible for the retaking of France among many other major achievements in the European front. Read up a little on US involvement in WW2.
A lot of countries mainly teach their history more indepth, so don't be too surprised if someone from another country does not know much about your countries history. Plus they tend to teach history more from the country's viewpoint where it's being taught.
At least that was what it was like in the past, doubt it has changed much unless you do a more specialist course. |

I think yours must be sadder to post in a thread you have no interest in.
As for me I have quite an easy life, no stress, no worries, 99.9% of the time I don't even need to look at a watch, no alarm clock. Plus plenty of spare time on my hands to do as I please. |
